Where In The World Is Marian? – Seattle, Washington
We participated in the Metropolitan Market’s “For the Love of Cheese Festival” at their stores in and around Seattle, Washington, featuring Long Clawson’s Mammoth 100 lb Stilton, along with Cotswold, Red Dragon & Tintern. In celebration of their Centenary, Long Clawson Dairy introduced World Record Breaking 100lb Mammoth truckles of Stilton and Metropolitan Markets was chosen as the 1st retailer to receive them in the USA!
To honour the occasion, Metropolitan Markets arranged for a simultaneous cutting of these Mammoth Stilton truckles at their six stores on Thursday 6th October at 3.12 pm. We were at their Uptown location for this, where KCPQ TV Channel 13 filmed the Event, which was featured on TV later that evening.

IDDBA – June 2011
Team Somerdale have finished up another successful show at IDDBA in Anaheim, CA – thank you to all those who we met up with, both old friends and new. Marian & Gerry at Central Markets, North Texas
Marian and Gerry were on the road again in the continuation of their ongoing “cheese tour” spreading the word of English cheeses to the US market! In all three visited stores (Dallas, Plano and Southlake stores) they demonstrated “The art of Huntsman Cheese-making” as most people do not realise that Huntsman is a hand-crafted cheese.
We thought the last photo would be a little fun!……it is of two of the customers in their Texas Rangers baseball T-shirts. This was taken the morning after The Texas Rangers Baseball Team won the American Baseball League to become (THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS). They are now through to play the San Francisco Giants, (the National League Champions), in the final of the baseball WORLD SERIES.

New Aprons for the Fancy Food Show
We were all sporting our newly designed shirts and aprons at the recent Fancy Food Show in New York. Gratefully supported by many suppliers including Long Clawson Dairy, Quickes, Abergavenny and Barbers, the show was well attended. There was also growing optimism from the trade that the economy is showing some signs of improvement at long last.
